We regularly supply materials
throughout the UK......
In the past
if a customer wanted to place a smallish order, they would be stung with a
large delivery charge, previously £100/200.
In order to improve this, we now get one of the companies
we supply to throughout the UK, to deliver to you on our behalf.
Same price materials, only much smaller delivery charge! e.g. 15 baltic
pine sleepers to N.London will cost only £48 delivery, rather
than the £150 it used to.
You should find that most materials will be available to you, at the same
price, as published on the internet, with the exception of some types of
sleepers, and one-off items, that are only stocked in Nottingham. Ring
us to order /check this out 0115 9890445 / 07971 914781 |

APOLOGIES
TO
John O'Groats & Lands End
Sometimes we are unable to deliver to certain areas, unless the order is a
large one, as it would be uneconomic for all concerned. In particular, parts
of Scotland & more remote areas in the UK.
We suggest arranging your own collection with a haulier local to you, who
may be able to collect from us, as they return to your area. Alternatively
you could contact a national courier service. |

DELIVERIES IN THE UK
Your materials will normally be delivered within
7 - 10 days from order, through an independent haulage company, that will
use a rigid or arctic lorry. You can normally find out the
day and time of the intended delivery several days after placing your order.
Deliveries are usually Monday - Friday, between 9am - 4pm.
Small orders will
be offloaded from the lorry and placed on the front of the drive, property
or pavement, providing the lorry can get close enough. It is CRUCIAL
to tell us, when you order, whether there are any delivery problems - e.g.
a narrow road that can't take an artic, or cars parked in front of the property
etc...
Large orders will need
to be offloaded by the customer with forklift etc.. If you do not have that
facility, then a vehicle with Hiab (crane) offloading may be possible at extra
cost.
|
|
DELIVERIES WORLDWIDE
Normally we deliver in full artic or container loads.
Deliveries on the European mainland will be normally be by Artic lorry. Deliveries
to the rest of the world will normally be shipped by Container. In both cases
the customer is responsible for unloading materials with forklift etc.. |
|
DELIVERIES in the NOTTINGHAM AREA
For local loads of 2.5 tonnes
or less we use a 4 wheel drive vehicle and trailer which which should be able
to be backed into most drives. The driver, can offload the sleepers etc..
on either side of, or directly behind the trailer without help, if none is
available. We cannot carry things further than that (i.e. into the back garden).
Occasionally, if we're offered a strong pair of hands, we may agree to carry
a short distance. |

MOVING
PARTY! Above or below
the limit. Sense and sensibility !
Do not underestimate the task of moving a dozen sleepers.
The muscles between your wrist and elbow are seriously put to the test !!
Arrange a sleeper moving party !! (NB drinks AFTERWARDS !) We've been met
several times by a press-ganged group of friends (men) who've decided in their
wisdom that a visit to the pub would warm up their muscles. Never carry the
end of a heavy sleeper with someone half cut! Wear sensible boots and gloves,
and beware trapped fingers when one person lifts while the other is still
trying to get their hands underneath (the most common and painful injury).
Look after your back. A back injury will often last your life. Lifting a sleeper
on your own to show your macho qualities is a sad inadvisable pastime. Be
sensible. Want to see the damage a dropped sleeper can do to a leg ? Click
here and scroll down. End of sermon.
